Play-DOH!!!

It recently became clear to me why Hasbro steered away from the traditional spelling of Play-Dough in favor of the Homer Simpson style Play-DOH!

It went something like this:
"Lila! Lila! Lila! Oh my GOSH! Lila! Ohhh Man! Lila! What are you doing?"
"What, Daddy, what are you saying, Daddy?" She comes and sits in my lap. She was standing on this pile of Play-doh methodically messaging it into the carpet with her feet.

(click on the picture to see it full size in all its glory)

Meanwhile, Emily comes down the stairs and then ducks her head back around the corner.
"Daddy, what is Mommy doing?"
"She is laughing, why don't you go ask her what she is laughing about?"
Emily, was able to compose herself and helped pull what we could out of the carpet.

Fortunately, Hasbro has "How do I remove PLAY-DOH compound from carpet, upholstery or fabric?" in their frequently asked questions (FAQ). I guess we will have to wait and see if it works.

P.S. Lila has recently being yelling "Ohhhh Man!" when she gets really upset about something breaking or something not going her way. I had been wondering where she picked that up. I guess it was from me.

That is some nasty looking Play-doh. What did she do, mix all her flavors together? That's ok... I remember when Natalie burned the carpet in the front room with an iron. I guess this will be one of those things that you can use later in Lila's life a leverage. I hope it comes out though.

We typically call them colors not flavors, I guess we know what you did with your Play-doh when you were little. But you are right, she mixed them all together. In her words, "Look, Daddy, I am making layers and I am smashing them."

Oh my gosh! I would've died! I'm glad Emily was able to see some humor in it! I can just picture Lila: "Ohhhh Man!" Love you guys!

This is perfect. Brad was just complaining a few minutes ago about how nasty our living room rug is. Our rug has nothin' on that mess, and at least we can throw our rug away. Carpet----mmmmmm, no. Good luck with that. Way to go Lila! Aunt Tiffany is proud of you for being so creative.

I have to clarify (if anyone else even reads this) that I was laughing at Johnny's little panic attack and then Lila's innocent question "what, what daddy?"

I was not laughing at the mound of play-doh that was smooshed into my carpet. And just for the record, it won't come out... any ideas????
